Unmask Your True Beauty
t was all fun, glam, music, and empowerment on the 4th of August 2023 at Empact Group as they celebrated Women's Day with an Artistic Unmasking Event. The event took place at their offices in Gqeberha, Cape Town, and Johannesburg. The theme of the event was “Woman You are Art. Unmask Your True Beauty”, which celebrated the beauty and strength of women and took place in collaboration with Artist Proof Studios (APS) and Tears Foundation.

The guests of honour were the Empact Group’s female employees, and guests from various platforms and industries. One thing that is certain when it comes to a celebration is that the weather will not dampen anyone’s spirit, especially not when the women are coming together in strength and unity.

Empact Group’s CEO, Alan Quinn made an appearance and couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of a celebration that would ensure that the women were truly empowered and inspired.

We are delighted to celebrate Women's Day by recognising the artistic beauty of every woman within our organisation. These events serve as a symbolic unmasking, encouraging our Empactors to shed the inhibitions and fears that hold them back and embrace their true beauty and prominence. We are committed to empowering our female staff and fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.” Says Alan Quinn.

The guests at the Artistic Unmasking events dressed up in colorful outfits. This was an artistic expression of themselves. Most importantly, wearing masks symbolised the barriers they aimed to overcome in their personal and professional lives. The celebrations included a majestic poetic performance by Hollywood, Kea, and Eulinda who read the famous ‘And Still I Rise’ by Maya Angelou.

The core message of the celebration was the power of art and how it inspires the women of Empact Group. Precious Makofane, Illse, Welile, and Hlavutelo from Artist Proof Studio showcased their work, using storytelling as a medium to ignite creativity and motivation among Empact’s female staff.

Our art speaks for us. Thank you, Alan, for providing us with this stage. It’s not every day that we are given such a stage. What I would like to say to the ladies present today is never give up on your dreams! I am standing here today because I dreamt of being an artist. Whatever your dream is, never give up,” states Precious Makofane.

There was also an abundance of entertainment from Dale Cowley who graced the guests with his songs. The songs got everyone to their feet and singing along.

Tears Foundation, a non-profit organisation, was present, and Kavya Swaminathan had a few words to say to the women. Empact Group teamed up with Tears Foundation dedicated to combating domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse through innovative technological solutions. As much as it was a celebration, ensuring that the women were safe was a top priority.

We are here to help you. You are not alone, we will provide you with all the information to help you make informed decisions,” says Kavya.
