According to the information available, an unknown man entered the school through the main gate when it was remotely opened for a car to drive in. The patroller who was responsible for guarding the gate attempted to stop the man, but he did not cooperate and proceeded to the admin block. The man hysterically demanded to see the principal, but was told that the principal was in a meeting and therefore could not see him at that time.
It is reported that the man then drew a knife and stabbed a teacher in the hand. In response, another teacher allegedly shot and killed the man.
After the incident, learners were gathered in the school hall and addressed, but they were later released as they became restless. In order to provide support and counseling to all affected individuals, including learners and teachers, the school's Psycho-Social Unit will be dispatched to the school on Monday, February 6, 2023.
