Financial stability was a key highlight, with Midvaal securing its tenth clean audit and being rated the most financially sustainable municipality for the third consecutive year. The mayor presented a R1.9 billion budget for 2024/2025, noting it as cash-backed and credible. Tariff increases were announced: 7% for water and refuse collection, 6% for sanitation, and a proposed 12.7% for electricity pending NERSA approval.

Teixeira emphasized the municipality's commitment to empowerment through preferential procurement, reporting an average of 32.70% of procurement benefiting previously disadvantaged communities. He also highlighted innovations in financial management, including the automation of supply chain processes and strategic investment of municipal funds.

In terms of economic development, the mayor reported on significant investments in Midvaal, including a new Sasol petrol station, the R370 million Riverstone Mall project, and the relocation of SA Taxi from Midrand. He outlined the municipality's Local Economic Development Strategy and efforts to support tourism and small businesses.
