Sebokeng, Zone 14 - On the night of April 12th, Mid Corner Shisa Nyama was the place to be for anyone seeking a good laugh and a great time. Project CBNews was invited to the event to witness Comedy Wednesday Central, where four talented comedians took to the stage and delivered an unforgettable performance.
But first, we need to tell you about the venue. Mid Corner Shisa Nyama, where the Comedy Wednesday Central event took place, used to be a surgery for the local GP. First, it was Doctor Tsholo who then handed over to Doctor Malao. Just being in the premises reminded us of the good old times in the 80s and 90s. From doctors' rooms to a vibrant pub and grill, Mid Corner Shisa Nyama has transformed into a hub of entertainment, attracting locals and visitors alike for a night of fun, laughter, and great food.
The evening was organized by Skholo, a local comedian who welcomed guests and kicked off the night with hilarious jokes. The theme for the evening was relationships, and each comedian had their own unique take on the subject. The crowd was left in stitches as the comedians shared their funny stories and observations about love, dating, and singledom.
Katleho Mokoena, the charming and entertaining waitress, kept the guests' glasses full while Hero Ex Nthabiseng Hailela took to the stage to poke fun at taxi commuters. Zicco Sithole, a nominee for the upcoming Comics Choice Award Ceremony, kept the laughs coming with his live-action comedy. Tol @$$ Mo, a well-known TV personality and gamer, also surprised the crowd with his comedic talents.
Despite the challenges posed by loadshedding, the team at Project CBNews managed to capture the highlights of the night, including an interview with Katlego, the owner of Mid Corner Shisa Nyama.
Comedy Wednesday is held on the last Wednesday of every month and is the perfect place to unwind, relax, and enjoy a night of laughter with friends and family.
