In a vibrant celebration of local media, MCR Radio officially hit the airwaves on July 12, marking a new era for the Midvaal community. The launch event, attended by the Mayor of Midvaal Peter Teixeira, who had the honor of cutting the ceremonial red ribbon, signaled the beginning of a fresh, community-focused broadcasting venture.


MCR Radio, operating from its studio at 137 Phillips Furstenburg Street in Riversdal, Meyerton, aims to serve the Midvaal community with a mix of local news and quality music. The station's mission is clear: to be the voice of Midvaal, keeping residents informed and entertained.

"We're thrilled to bring MCR Radio to life," said a spokesperson for the station. "Our goal is to create a strong connection with our listeners, providing them with content that matters to their daily lives."

The station boasts a diverse program lineup designed to cater to various tastes throughout the day. Listeners can start their mornings with the energetic Breakfast Show hosted by Donovan from 6 AM to 9 AM, followed by the relaxing Morning Coffee segment until noon. For those seeking a nostalgic midday break, Wanda hosts Lunchtime Classics from 12 PM to 3 PM. The Afternoon Drive show takes over from 3 PM to 7 PM, perfect for commuters heading home. Evenings and weekends feature non-stop music playlists, with a special Top 20 countdown adding excitement to the weekend schedule.


The Mayor of Midvaal Peter Teixeira, present at the launch, expressed enthusiasm for the new radio station. "MCR Radio represents a significant step forward for our community," the Mayor stated. "It will serve as a platform for local voices, issues, and talents, further uniting our Midvaal family."
