Mr Beukes's afternoon turned very dark as he knocked off from the NWU on 31 May 2022. Two men highjacked him in Vereeniging CBD. He had to draw money for them at the ATM.
Jason Beukes feared for his life, the two men told him where to go next to end his life. He drove into the pre-cast wall of the Old Olympic Swimming pool at 14:43 as he feared for his life.
The two men ran from the scene but were apprehended by the SAPS as multiple gunshots filled the air next to Kruger Laan School.
It is an ongoing investigation.
