Russia invaded Ukraine at dawn on 24 Feb 2022.  In this devastation and loss of lives, the Ukrainian people are resilient and will fight back for their basic needs and freedom.

On the 22nd of October, local Midvaal people came together in Meyerton to celebrate the arts and architecture and people of Ukraine at Ligkuns Photographic and Art Gallery.  Photographer and Gallery owner Elsje Van Zyl exhibited photographs she took in 1998 when she went with her mom's marionette group to Ukraine Lutsk, where they had a big marionette festival.
