On the corner of Gallaway and Loch Street in Meyerton — near the new Pick and Pay centre — a burglary went catastrophically wrong on Tuesday evening and shops caught fire. Meyerton SAPS has issued a formal media statement on behalf of Station Commander Colonel Senzangakona Christopher Mohale. The charge recorded is Arson.
According to the statement, three suspects were spotted on CCTV cameras entering Ackermans. The fire broke out, and the suspects fled the scene. Four buildings were confirmed affected: Meyerton SASSA offices, Crazy Store, Fashion World, and Sweets Land. The SAPS statement records no injuries.
