Tribhangi Dance Production brings South African history to life

What a way to learn about the rich South African cultural diversity.

TRIBHANGI DANCE THEATRE captured history in an edutainment way that was fun, and full of energy. Sadly the views of the youth today see history as not important and valuable because it’s all about the past, which has no meaning in today’s technological advance way of life.

I was privileged enough to be a part of a generation that values traditions and culture. Tribangi delivered a cultural dialogue through visual art, drama in a form of dance and music that I found myself stomping my feet to the rhythm and drums.

The story of the long, torturous journey by ship that was made the first Indian community to Durban. To the struggle of freedom and black consciousness the dawn of democracy.

The story is the start of a conversation, telling of the historical journey and slowly moving forward. This is who we are. This is our identity as a nation, as part of the fabric that has made us.
